Umrah Package Deals Allow Pilgrims to Visit Important Sites
For Muslims residing in countries located at greater
distances from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the journey to the holy city of
Makkah to perform their Umrah would be quite a long one. It, therefore,
involves a significant amount of cost, which can be unaffordable for many of
the prospective pilgrims. However, the packages for this pilgrimage offered by
many of the tour operators have made the journey cost-effective for most of the
Muslims. They can also get a considerable amount of discount on their chosen
package if it is booked several months in advance.
The Umrah package deals
offered by many tour operators from time to time have also helped the
prospective pilgrims in reducing the cost of this pilgrimage. For getting these
deals, it is extremely necessary to be informed about them as and when they are
released by the travel company or the tour operator. The best way to stay
informed on the deals is to register online on the websites of the leading tour
operators. Once the prospective pilgrims sign up on these sites, they can stay
updated on the latest deals. Upon booking their desired package under such
offers, they can have greater savings to be utilised during their time in
Makkah for buying souvenirs or visiting the most important Islamic sites.
One of them is Mount Arafat, also known as Jabal
al-Rahmah, which translates as 'Mountain of Mercy'. This mountain is the place
where Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) was forgiven by The Almighty Allah for
his sin after his fall from heaven. It is a granite hill located in the plain
of Arafat at a distance of about 20 kilometres to the east of central Makkah.
The Islamic tradition also states that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had
stood on the mountain to deliver his famous 'Farewell Sermon' towards the end
of his life.
Another interesting place worth exploring is a mosque
located in Makkah called 'Masjid al-Jinn' or 'Mosque of the Jinn'. This is
considered to be one of the oldest mosques located in the holy city and is
visited by many worshippers and pilgrims. It has been built at the spot where a
group of 'jinn' or genies had gathered one night to listen to Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) reciting a portion of the Holy Quran. The prophet later met
with the leaders of these genies and they embraced Islam.
Yet another mountain that the pilgrims must never
forget to visit is 'Jabal al-Noor'. The name of this mountain translates as
'Mountain of Light' or 'Hill of Illumination'. It is home to the 'Cave of
Hira', where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had received his first
revelation of the Holy Quran from Archangel Jibreel (A.S). The revelation
comprised the first five 'ayats' or verses from 'Surah Al-Alaq' and he had
received it after spending many days inside this cave in deep contemplation. It
takes a strenuous hike of one to two hours to reach the Cave of Hira.
