Umrah Package Deals Allow You to Explore Prominent Sites
In the past, many of the Muslims living in countries
far from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had to keep postponing their plans of
performing Umrah owing to the huge costs involved in making the long journey.
Others had no other choice but to go with the cost offered by their nearest
travel agent to help them get to Saudi Arabia from their place of residence.
Today, the presence of many tour operators have given them several options in
packages offered for this Islamic pilgrimage. They can also get a wide range of
packages upon searching online using any of the popular search engines.
Before they even search online, the prospective
pilgrims have to first decide the date of departure and the amount of time they
plan to spend in the holy city of Makkah well in advance. Once the dates are
decided, they can go ahead and book their desired package several months
earlier to get the best Umrah package deals
that would help them have greater savings for their journey. They can utilise
the amount saved during their time spent in Makkah while visiting some of the
popular Islamic sites located in and around the holy city.
One of them is a sacred mountain called Abu Qubais,
which is situated on the eastern frontier of Makkah. Although the exact origin
of the name of this mountain is still unknown, it is believed to have been
called al-Amin during the times when pagan Arabs inhabited this region. One of
the other legends states that this mountain was the place where the first of
men lived and died. According to the Islamic traditions, this is the place
where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had shown the miracle of the
'splitting of the moon' to the pagans of this region when they disbelieved him.
A mosque located in the holy city of Makkah, Masjid
al-Jinn is considered one of the oldest mosques built in this part of Saudi
Arabia and is also among the most important ones. This mosque has been built at
the spot where a group of creatures with supernatural powers called 'jinn' had
assembled after sunset. They had gathered to hear Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) recite a portion of the Holy Quran. This event has also been
described in the al-Jinn chapter of the Holy Quran. It has also been mentioned
that the leaders of the jinn met with the prophet later and embraced Islam.
Jannat al-Mu'alla is yet another famous Islamic site
located to the north of Masjid al-Haram and is near Masjid al-Jinn. It is the
place where Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) wife, grandfather, and other
relatives are buried. Over the years, many structures have either been built or
rebuilt at this site. Many of the grave markers were removed or demolished
during the demolitions carried out in 1925. Although there are not many remains
to commemorate the ancestors buried at this site, most of the pilgrims arriving
in Makkah make it a point to visit this place.
